Appealing Your Redundancy

If you believe you were unfairly selected or your employer did not follow a fair redundancy process you can appeal the decision.
The important thing is to talk to your employer about this and ask if there is an appeal process. Make sure you check your contract and consultation information about how long you have to appeal and how the process works. If no process then you can write to them outlining what you feel was unfair.
  • You have the right to see your personal scoring matrix and have this explained to you.
  • You have the right to accompaniment to meetings.
  • You have the right to be meaningfully consulted before redundancy is confirmed.
